Marco Bezzecchi could be Aprilia’s target for 2025 amid uncertainty over Maverick Viñales’ future.

Aprilia Racing is making strategic moves for the 2025 MotoGP season, targeting Marco Bezzecchi as Jorge Martin’s potential teammate should Maverick Viñales decide to leave. Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola confirmed that an Italian rider has been contacted, but stressed that retaining Maverick Viñales remains their top priority.

Rivola elaborated on the team’s strategy, stating: “We have contacted an Italian rider to pair with Martin, but keeping Viñales is still our main objective. We want to ensure stability and competitive performance in our team.”

Although Aprilia is committed to keeping Viñales, his future with the team is still uncertain. Viñales, who has achieved excellent performances since joining Aprilia, is evaluating his options. Rivola expressed hope that Viñales will choose to stay, underlining the positive working relationship and common goals. “Maverick has been an integral part of our progress and we hope to continue this journey together,” said Rivola.

However, it seems that there is also a third option on the table, because if the negotiations do not go well, either to keep Maverick Viñales or to sign the much desired Italian rider Marc Bezzecchi, there is always the possibility of promoting the Portuguese rider to the team Aprilia’s main one, and this was even mentioned by Rivola during the Aprilia event.

The 2025 season will be crucial for Aprilia as they aim to consolidate their position in MotoGP. The possible addition of Bezzecchi alongside Martin could create a formidable lineup. Rivola underlined the team’s commitment to continuous improvement and achieving the best results. “Our goal is to compete at the highest level and these strategic moves are crucial to our success,” he concluded.

With the MotoGP transfer market heating up, all eyes will be on Aprilia’s next steps. The team’s decisions in the coming months will shape their competitive landscape and determine their outlook for the 2025 season and beyond.
