in Udine ok for TVs outside the premises

Less than a week before the debut of the Italian national team at the European football championships which will take place in Germany from 14 June to 14 July 2024, the date of the final in Berlin, the Municipality of Udine is busy preparing to allow the citizens and citizens to cheer in the warmest, most passionate and participatory way possible.

After the great participation of the citizens who poured into the streets and squares of the historic center to support Udinese in the survival challenge against Frosinone, the Administration has drawn up a new ordinance signed yesterday by the Mayor Alberto Felice De Toni which will allow all venues in the historic center and in the neighborhoods, in a similar way to what happened last May 26th, to broadcast the European Championship matches live outside.

“Italy is the reigning champion of Europe and we want to allow all the towns and citizens to support it by spending nice evenings in company in the clubs of our city. Some of the best memories linked to sport are built during these great international events”, comments the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Productive Activities Alessandro Venanzi. “We therefore like the idea that our city is the backdrop to the most important matches, also generating opportunities for the economic fabric of Udine. We can say that the precedent brought luck to Udinese, we hope to be able to replicate with the national team.”

In the first phase of the tournament, Italy will play against Albania on Saturday 15 June, against Spain (a match which in 2020 was considered to be the semi-final of the competition) on Thursday 20 June and against Croatia on Monday 24 June. In all three cases, Italy will play at 9pm. The direct elimination phase will begin on 29 June with the round of 16 finishing on 2 July. Starting from 5 July the Europeans will enter the most intense phase with the quarter-finals on 5 and 6 July and the semi-finals on 9-10 July, concluding with the final in Berlin on 14 July.
