Music and theater in honor of Saint Anthony of Padua

On the occasion of the celebrations in honor of Saint Anthony of Padua, alongside the religious celebrations, the Foggia Parish named after the Saint organizes three days of fun in the square dedicated to music and theatre. We start on Tuesday 11 June at 9pm with Fabio & Dino and their ‘Provisional placement’, written with Aldo Augelli and Fabio Di Credico, which tells – in the manner of the comic duo – the much maligned but still loved city of Foggia.

On Wednesday 12th at 9.30pm ‘Senza surrender’ will perform on stage, re-proposing Vasco Rossi’s most beautiful and beloved pieces. Thursday 13 June at 9pm concert by Micky Sepalone, Angela Piaf and the Canta Napoli Band who will retrace the history of the classic Neapolitan song. In fact, the setlist includes songs by Sergio Bruni, Roberto Murolo, Domenico Modugno, Aurelio Fierro, Antonio De Curtis, Lucio Dalla, Pino Daniele and many others.

For safety reasons, via Smaldone, the right-hand semi-lane, considering the direction of travel from via Imperiale to viale Europa, in front of the Church of Sant’ Anthony.

While the closure to traffic of via Smaldone (both carriageways from viale Europa to via Sbano) – via Smaldone (half-lane on the right on the odd civil side of via Sbano to via Imperiale) – via Sbano (from the crossroads it follows via Sbano to via Smaldone) – via Gobetti (from via Smaldone to Passo Carrabile n° 489/98).

Two processions are also planned: the first on Wednesday 12 June which will unfold along a route that will affect some streets of the city centre. Starting from 7.30pm, via Crispi – via Fania – via De Amicis – via Dattoli – via Tarantino – via Vittime Civili – corso Garibaldi – piazza XX Settembre – via Angiolillo will be temporarily closed to traffic until the procession passes.

Instead, on the day of the holiday, Thursday 13 June, there will be a procession organized by the parish of Sant’Antonio da Padova in via Smaldone. In this case, again starting at 7.30 pm, the streets affected by the temporary closure until the procession passes will be: via Smaldone – via Sbano – via Bellavia – via Imperiale – via Fioritto – via Petruzzelli – via Grandi – via Castellino – via Valentini.

In both cases, vehicular traffic during the passage of the processions will be diverted onto the neighboring streets.
