The three days of the men’s and women’s Artistic Champions Cup staged at the PalaIndoor in Padua ended on Sunday 9 June. After the all around it was the turn of the specialty finals. The junior and senior men’s octets took turns on their respective six apparatus to capture this season’s titles. In the junior floor exercise, Manuel Berettera (Artistica Brescia) and Riccardo Ruggeri (Victoria Fermo) won in tandem, gold medals also on the ring castle, while the best pommel horse exercise was presented by Lorenzo Borin (Body Free Gymnastics Team) . On the 25 meter run-up, the other host, Niccolò Martin, prevailed, as did Ivan Rigon on the bar. On even bars, however, Pietro Mazzola (Ginastica Sampietrina) won. Moving up in category, Filippo Castellaro (Virtus Pasqualetti) excelled in the senior square, as did Andrea Canazza on the horse’s saddle in front of the home crowd. Edoardo De Rosa (Ginastica Gioy) surpassed the other contenders at the castle of rings by more than one point while Ares Federici (Spes Mestre) jumped better on the vault table. Lorenzo Bonicelli (Ghislanzoni GAL) also did the same thing on the bar. Stefano Patron, who had already won the day before the general competition, then closed the competition, imposing himself on the parallel stands.

On the women’s front, however, Ginevra Facciolini (San Giuseppe) performed the best vault according to the judging body. Following the Olympic tour for the GAF we moved on to the final on the unsymmetrical bars in which Irene Lanza (Futuregym 2000) climbed to the first step of the Venetian podium as did Letizia Saronni (Centro Sport Bollate) for the beam and Arianna Grillo (Ginnastica Pavese ).

The awards ceremony was attended by Franco Mantero, federal councilor representing the President of the Italian Gymnastics Federation, Dario Martello president of the CR Veneto FGI, Mario Montanarini councilor of the CR Veneto FGI, Tommaso Toffanin president of the Corpo Libero Gymnastics Team, Giorgio Citton collaborator of the Director National Female Technician, Gioconda Raguso National representative of the female artistic section competition officials, Fulvio Traverso national representative of the male artistic section competition officials, Antonio Zurlini president of the jury for the men’s section and Carmen Basla president of the jury for the female section.
