Viterbo – Kicks and punches in Piazza del Comune on Saturday night: one policeman injured and two arrested. More violence between Via Ascenzi and Piazza del Comune last night. Where a couple and other customers of a public establishment were hit with bottles. Tension and fear in the historic center.
Violent Saturday evening in the center, with an attack in Piazza del Comune which required the intervention of the police. The balance: an injured officer and two young people arrested.
The officers had to use tasers and pepper spray to stop the most violent ones. The two young people were arrested for injuries, resistance and violence against a public official. The validation hearing is scheduled for this morning.
Shortly after midnight, two young people aged 28 and 22 got into a fight, perhaps due to a few too many drinks and inappropriate words. Several people present apparently participated in the brawl.
The police struggled to restore calm. Police and carabinieri were on site, but the young people did not stop fighting, attacking an officer, who was taken to the Belcolle emergency room with minor injuries.
Get excited also in via Ascenzi. Last night around 11pm another episode of violence in the center, involving two foreigners. A police car, carabinieri and a 118 ambulance were on site.
The two, apparently Polish residents of the province, went into a drunken rage and first hit an engaged couple with bottles and then other customers of a bar.
The police were on site and stopped the two agitated men. Also in this case there is a lot of fear on the part of residents and passers-by. The two continued to scream even after the police arrived and stopped them. Result of the evening: three young people attacked, the couple and a friend, and one of the Poles ended up in the emergency room. The Pole was allegedly beaten up by some citizens who were the object of his attacks.
The two Poles, blocked in Piazza del Comune and taken to the police station to be identified, would have been released on bail for the crimes of injury and battery. A carabinieri patrol was also on site to assist the police.
