PADUA – The soldiers of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Padua have identified a company dedicated to the wholesale of products called Moca, i.e. materials and objects intended to come into contact with food, which illegitimately had the expected quality mark. This is a highly regulated sector, which is why the Green Basques have mapped the businesses in the Padua industrial area of the provincial capital.

Moca products must comply with the standards dictated in Europe, as well as have different characteristics in relation to the type of food with which they will come into contact or to the different conservation techniques and times, to prevent them from being unsuitable or representing a risk for the public health. Material intended to come into contact with food can transfer components to food products and, in some cases, cause contamination of the food with which it comes into contact.

The police activity, carried out jointly with personnel from the Food Hygiene and Nutrition Service (Sian) of the local Ulss 6 Euganea, made it possible to find approximately 3.5 million products without any indication in a warehouse in the industrial area of Padua. and warning for the consumer, stored in bulk, without the necessary certifications suitable to guarantee the traceability of the raw materials used for their production, also omitting the required communication to the competent health authority.

The owner of the individual company subject to the inspection was reported to the Municipality of Padua for the administrative violations found and all the products were seized to be withdrawn from the market.
