A carpet of people, many more than last year, to certify the success of a format, that of Platani in festa, held on the occasion of the celebrations in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which continues to be popular and which, indeed, appears to be growing in terms of the number of visitors. So much so that the fourth edition can be defined as a record-breaker compared to the previous three.
“A pleasant surprise – comments the parish priest, the priest Marco Diara, whose Sacred Heart of Jesus parish organized the initiative with the support of the Municipality and some private sponsors – which demonstrates how there is a great desire to get together and spend time together certain moments. We promoted one that tried to rely on the traditions of the city and the desire to live a few hours of light-heartedness with the support of street artists, dance schools and DJ sets. On Saturday evening, until the small hours, people remained on site because they wanted to continue to participate in this extraordinary moment. It’s unfortunate that, after the start, within an hour and a half, the homemade cavas and cannolis from the tasting were sold out. But we really didn’t expect such a response from those who came to visit us. We will try to prepare even better for the fifth edition.”
Just four editions, therefore, but Platani in festa, so called because it extends along the entire Viale dei Platani, involving the shops in the area and ensuring that there are various entertainment stations, has already become a must. DJ sets by Michele Ricca, Andrea Bonuomo, Saro Sallemi and Julio Vox will perform on Saturday evening. Then, the street artists with the Franse, the Sbadaclown, the Circo Ramingo and the Rebel Circus. Also performing were Rimmel, Green Box and Picciotti di Vasco: piano & voice, with Vincenzo Fontes and Leandro Lami. The music was engaging. Just as worthy of attention was the performance of the ArteMia, Dance with Me and Star Dance dance schools which, in turn, entertained the audience in an intense manner.
“I thank all those who came to visit us, the staff members and of course those who supported us, starting with the Municipality and Mayor Cassì who spoke about the fact that when Platani arrives to celebrate it’s as if summer has arrived. I believe it is an aspect of the potential that this city is able to express. We will propose ourselves again in the future with this same approach.”
