At 11pm on Sunday 9 June, with the closing of the polls, the weekend for the 2024 European Elections and the local elections ended. In the province of Rimini, the voters of 16 municipalities were called to vote for the election of the Mayor and municipal councilors.
TO national level, according to the data provided by DAIT – Central Directorate for Electoral Services – SIECC, shortly after midnight the turnout figure for 56,983 sections out of 61,650 was 49.52 %. The data of theEmilia Romagna indicate that voter turnout was higher than the national average: 4,424 out of 4,529 voted 58.95 at 11pm %, even in Emilia-Romagna a significant drop in votes was also recorded here: in 2019 (when voting took place in a single day) the turnout in the region was 67.23%.
In the province of Riminiout of 387 sections, the turnout at 11pm was 52.96 % (the final one was 61.67% in 2019). The province of Rimini is the one, at a regional level, which recorded the highest abstention.

The counting is expected after the polls close. For the European Parliament elections, voting was done using the proportional system but with a threshold of 4%. Romagna is included in the large electoral constituency of North-East Italy with Veneto, Friuli, Trentino Alto Adige.
