Yellow alert for thunderstorms across the Veneto from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday morning

The weather forecast Arpav indicate that from the afternoon/evening of today until the end of tomorrow – Monday 10 June – is expected unstable weather with showers and thunderstorms, with more intense phases in the afternoon/evening of Sunday and in the afternoon/evening of Monday. Phenomena are expected locally also intense (heavy showers, local hailstorms, strong gusts of wind).

In light of these forecasts, the Decentralized Functional Center of the Civil Protection of Veneto has issued a new criticality warningvalid from 2pm today to 8am on Tuesday 11 June, in which it is decreed the state of attention (yellow alert) For hydrogeological criticality for storms in all the Veneto basins. In consideration of the ordinary criticality for thunderstorms expected in all alert zones, the scenario will be characterized by intense and increasingly rapid evolution.

The state of attention due to hydraulic criticality in the Adige-Garda and Monti Lessini, Po, Fissero-Tartaro-CanalBianco and Basso Adige, Basso Brenta – Bacchiglione basins is also confirmed, referring to the persistence of high levels along the Adige river, with precise critical issues in the embankment body affecting the downstream section of Boara Pisani (Padua).
