The unions invite the association. D’Annuntiis in the bathroom in Piazzale San Francesco in Teramo…

In the aftermath of the regional and provincial strike of June 4th, which registered very high levels of support among workers at the TUA offices in Teramo and Giulianova, we would have expected minimal interest from politicians and in particular from the Regional Councilor for Transport, Dr. D’Annuntiis, among other things, an electoral representative of our Province… none of this happened!

Consequently, it is our concern to remind him and the Regional Councilors elected in the province of the many problems and all the vicissitudes that afflict workers and users of public transport managed by Tua throughout the Teramo province on a daily basis.

How can we forget the continuous recourse to subcontracting to private companies with relative and consequent reduction in jobs in TUA Spa, or the very recent cutting of an evening reserve shift at the Giulianova office, extremely important for the safety and continuity of the service . How can we fail to remember the gradual and perpetuated reduction of connections for users such as, for example, the one directed to San Benedetto del Tronto from Giulianova, which was recently communicated by the company.

How can we fail to remember that for years as Workers’ Representatives we have been denouncing the reduced distances on many routes which lead to continuous delays and consequently a poor quality of service, or the insufficiency of checks and verification of travel documents which in fact lead to a very high percentage of fare evasion, or again, the lack of responses to our countless reports on the unsafe situation of stops not marked with poles on many routes in the Province?

As far as infrastructures are concerned, how can we not report the scandalous situation in Piazzale San Francesco in Teramo where, in addition to a deregulation of traffic within it, there has been the havoc of a construction site (TUA) which has been closed for months which has further worsened the conditions of safety for the performance of services, just as we cannot fail to point out the lack of signs at the Giulianova station which is invaded for the entire duration of the day by private cars which make access to it difficult, and finally we point out the “cathedral in the desert” of the the Mosciano Stazione hub, an announced and much-vaunted work that today still appears to be a construction site shrouded in weeds

In light of the above, we ask Councilor D’Annuntiis if he is aware of all these problems and if he intends to take charge of them through appropriate responses suited to the good of the workers concerned and the entire community.

We need defined and definitive answers to all the problems described, continuing to let these go on means making the current situation extremely worse which is no longer sustainable for the workers of the TUA company, as well as for the users of the public service.
