European elections, at 12 noon today in the 204 electoral sections of the Municipality of Parma, 38,008 voters had voted, equal to 25.92% of those entitled to vote.

The turnout in Parma is currently higher than the national average. In Italy, in fact, 24.02% of those entitled to vote voted for the European elections at 12pm. This is what emerges from the first data from the Interior Ministry relating to approximately half of the 61,650 sections. The turnout at 11pm yesterday (Saturday) was 14.64%.

Emilia-Romagna at the top
Emilia-Romagna, where in addition to the European elections people also vote for 255 municipalities, is the region with the highest voter turnout, approximately 6 percentage points higher than the national average. At 12, in fact, just under 32% of those entitled to vote had voted. Since the last time voting was on Saturday and Sunday was fifteen years ago, comparisons are complicated.
As expected, voter turnout is higher in the Municipalities where they also vote for mayors such as in Modena (34.2%), Forlì (35.5%), Cesena (34.2%), Reggio Emilia (33 ,2%). The turnout in Ferrara was particularly high, where 41.8% voted. However, these figures are higher than in municipalities like Bologna (30%) where there is no vote for the mayor.
