«Business card for Fano»

FANO – After the Brodetto Fest ended last Sunday, the particularly intense aroma of this dish continues to spread, which has now achieved national fame, but which only in Fano can be enjoyed in all its particularities due both to the selection of the quality of fish and to the rigor of its ingredients and the cooking process.

It continues because after the 4 days that animated the Lido seafront, the Fuori brodetto program was organized, an initiative promoted again by Confesercenti with the involvement of the restaurants that cook fish, which until June 30th for every day of the week will include in the Brodetto is on their menu, at a 20 percent discount.

The locals who participate

The venues participating in the initiative are: Al Vecchio Doc, Caffè del Porto, Cruiser Cafè & Restaurant, Da Ciarro, Da Pep cum n’a volta, Darderi Bistrò, Da Yankee, Il Baretto, Il Borgo del Faro, Il Gattopardo, Il Giardino dei Sapori, la Perla, La Liscia da Mr. Ori, Osteria Dalla Peppa, Osteria Le Cesarine, Osteria Pani e Pesci, Ristorantino Da Santin, Tinto, Trattoria da Ugo, Vecchia Fano, Villamarina. Special evenings are also part of the Fuori Brodetto during which, together with the brodetto, the restaurateurs will offer dedicated menus. At the end of the entire event, a technical jury of gastronomes, experts and enthusiasts, led by chef Lucio Pompili, will test all the participating restaurants and select the winner. After the first two evenings which took place last Friday and Saturday at the Peppa osteria and at the Da Pepp cum ‘na volta restaurant, the next event is Tuesday 11 June at the Pani e Pesci osteria in viale Adriatico 96/a, followed by another evening the next day at La Liscia da Mr. Ori, in via Giacomo Puccini, 2 where you will taste the traditional broth.

«The brodetto – declares the owner Luca Orazi, Mr. Ori – represents the city, it is like the carnival, a cultural asset. Precisely for this reason it would be good for everyone to do it, revisited or traditional as long as it is present in the menus, in fact I would like fellow restaurateurs to offer it all year round to ensure that the city is reflected in it and that it is a business card for tourists”.

With the BrodettoFest and the initiatives that follow, the season of major events that take place in Fano during or close to the summer has officially opened.

Full tank at the Lido

The success achieved in the last edition, despite the bad weather that occurred on two out of four days, satisfied the Confesercenti leaders. The data highlighted by the provincial director Alessandro Ligurgo are significant: all the events were sold out; from the cooking shows at Palabrodetto with top chefs, to Brodetto&Wine as well as the BrodettoBoat which hosted more than 200 people for the sea excursion. 2,300 broths were cooked on Saturday alone, plus the cooking of 300 kilos of clams, 200 kilos of passatelli, 200 kilos of fried foods in the new clam space for a total of 18 thousand meals. The provincial president Pier Stefano Fiorelli also highlighted the importance of establishing the Lanterna Azzurra award in memory of the pioneers of Fano tourism in the 1960s.
