After the great success of the first edition of the Trapani Film Festival, the organizational machine of the second edition was set in motion, born from the collaboration between Italy and America, thanks to the 3 Points Productions and artistic directors Francesco Torre and Michael Carlo Allen.

The 2024 edition of the Trapani Film Festival – #TFF – will take place from 20 to 23 June inside Casina delle Palme, close to the sea, with the patronage and co-production of the Municipality of Trapani led by Mayor Giacomo Tranchida who strongly believed in the pose of “first stone” of the Film Festival together withCouncilor for Culture Rosalia d’Alì.

“The aim of the festival is to become, over the course of the various editions, a meeting and discussion center between artists and producers on the national and international scene, a place where new collaborations can arise”, say the two artistic directors Francesco Torre and Michael Carlo Allen.

The premiere will be on June 20th ‘new entry’: a space at the Trapani OFF Film Festival dedicated to film productions promoted in high schools, universities and film academies.

There were numerous nominations of the films competing on the website https://filmfreeway.com/TrapaniFILMFest evaluated by directors, critics, artists and members of the Municipality of Trapani.

Among the competing categories there will be awards for Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Documentary over 30′ and Best Documentary under 30′. The finalists competing in the aforementioned respective categories will be revealed in a few days.

And now we come to the official guests of the second edition of the festival.

Doing the honors will be godmother Ester Pantano, face of the TV series Màkari also in the cast of Paolo Genovese’s TV series ‘The Lions of Sicily’. These are the official guests of the second edition: Domenico Centamore (Màkari, La Matassa), Raffaele Vannoli (Ferie d’Agosto, L’odore della notte, etc.), Vincenzo Crivello (Il capo dei capi, Sicilian Ghost Story, etc.) , Orio Scaduto (The mafia only kills in the summer, Baarìa, etc.), Chiara Vinci (Story of a respectable family, Moments of negligible happiness, etc.), Alessio Piazza (The Young Montalbano, Baarìa, etc.), Fabrizio Ferracane (The Bad Guy, Il Paradiso delle Signore, etc.), last year’s winners Matranga & Minafò (Ciurè, Gli Attassati, etc.), Beatrice Fazi (A doctor in the family, The truth I’ll explain about love, etc. .), Angela Curri (Braccialetti Rossi 2, Artemisia Gentileschi, etc.), Michele La Ginestra (Immaturi, Viva l’Italia, etc.), Manuela Ventura (Primadonna, Rocco Chinnici, etc.) and many other interventions.

During the event from 20 to 23 June, the competing films will be evaluated and voted by a jury of industry technicians, directors, actors, journalists and film critics. They are joined by Gianpiero Pumo, winner of the first edition of the TFF with the feature film “Ciurè”. The first guests are the protagonists of the film, the Sicilian duo Matranga & Minafò and Vladimir Randazzo, Jonis Bascir, Manuela Ventura, Fabrizio Ferracane, Alessio Piazza, Davide Calgaro, Orio Scaduto and many others who will be announced shortly.

Finally, each category winner will be awarded a prize consisting of premium access to the new on-demand streaming platform “WeBeam.it”. Furthermore, during the final, a symbol of the City of Trapani will be awarded as a prize. And special prizes will also be awarded for the most deserving works.
