Bibbiano Tragic ambush, on the stairs of an apartment building in via Fratelli Corradini 6, in the center of Bibbiano. It was there that shortly before 11pm on Friday 7 January, a 40-year-old Italian man of Piedmontese origins, already known in the town for having been in trouble with the law and having spray-painted buildings, stabbed to death a 61-year-old of Albanian origins , married and father of a 19-year-old daughter, after a heated argument. The victim is Ilirjan Minaj. Riccardo Stefani is arrested: He is accused of aggravated murder.
Minaj, who lives in the staircase next to the one where the crime occurred, apparently went to number 6 to go to a relative’s house but, just as he was waiting for the door to be opened, the assassin pounced on himleaving him no escape, and then barricading himself in his apartment.
It was there that they then caught up with him and arrested him the Carabinieri of Bibbiano, with colleagues from Montecchio and the Radiomobile of Reggio Emilia, alerted by the victim’s relatives. Not without difficulty, and after moments of great tension, the soldiers took him away, loading him onto a gazelle, while around thirty people tried to get in contact with the murderer, to take justice into their own hands. Someone also kicked and punched the car of the police, who arrived in force in the town both to carry out investigations but also to try to calm the situation.
The dynamics of what happened still remain to be clarified and, above all, a motive is being sought: it seems that the two had had an argument previously, but nothing suggested such an epilogue. The victim, a resident of Bibbiano for years, is described as a kind person and a hard worker. She frequented the clubs in the square and spoke to everyone. The killer is instead described as a troublemaker and, according to initial information, until recently he was under house arrest. He is known in Bibbiano for several thefts against supermarkets in the area.
