Last week of passion for the two mayoral candidates, Scoccia from the centre-right and Ferdinandi from the centre-left, in view of the run-off vote that will decide the next mayor of Perugia.

Scoccia: «Perugia of Yes is with us» In a note, Scoccia announces «ten stages» which represent «ten new opportunities to be among the people of Perugia» and relaunch a message: «Now more than ever Perugia belongs to everyone. On 23 and 2 4 June we will have to choose between two city models: on the one hand the Perugia of ‘No’, which blocks development with uncertain policies, on the other the Perugia of ‘Yes’ which without ideologies promotes concrete ideas and projects that they improve everyone’s lives. It will be a choice between past and future. With me, Perugia will have a free mayor who looks forward.” On social media, Scoccia explains that «for these reasons I felt the need to meet you again, to be together, continue to discuss and plan our future with you. We will do it with this new journey through the squares and streets of our Perugia. Perugia loves you, so do you.”

Tour in 10 stages The Scoccia tour calendar starts today Saturday 15 June at 7pm in Piazza Alvaro Chiabolotti in Ponte San Giovanni. Other stops are planned in San Martino in Campo (16 June at 7pm – green area Cva), Sant’Egidio (16 June at 9pm external area Cva), Ponte Felcino (17 June at 7pm piazza Torre della Catasta), Ponte Pattoli (17 June at 9pm Cva green area), San Sisto (18 June at 7pm Pedopark), Castel del Piano (18 June at 9pm Piazza Perugina), Fontivegge (19 June at 7pm Piazza Vittorio Veneto), San Marco (19 June at 9pm parking bar Gingillo) and finally in the historic center (20 June). «During the meetings – it is written in a note – margherita pizzas and beer will be offered». Ferdinandi «person by person» Ferdinandi, on the other hand, prepares for the last week of passion, stating: «For us politics has never been a means but an end, and the end is people. For us politics is participation. For us, politics is looking each other in the eye. For us, politics is about holding hands, sharing hopes and facing difficulties. People matter, their lives matter. We want to listen to them and give them an answer: ‘Person by person’.” A note therefore explains that «for this reason during the next nine days we have scheduled four events in four areas of our city: Saturday 15 June from 6pm in Piazza della Repubblica, Monday 17 June from 6pm in Piazza Silvio Guelpa in Ponte Felcino, Tuesday 18 June from 5pm in Piazza Valentino Martinelli in San Sisto, Thursday 20 June from 10.30am at the Ponte San Giovanni Market”.

«Even as mayor I will go to the streets» On his journey through the neighborhoods and hamlets of Perugia Ferdinandi says: «I will meet every person who wishes to dialogue with me and represent their history and ideas. Face to face with every citizen, with every citizen who wants to sit next to me and establish an equal connection: eye to eye, listening for listening, word for word. This is how I serve our community and this is how it will remain in the future. Even as mayor, my commitment will continue in this direction. I want to be – it is always written in a note – the mayor of everyone, but above all a mayor among people, for people and with people. For this reason I feel like announcing right now that I will periodically dedicate an entire day to meeting citizens in the places of participation. I will be the one to go to them, in the squares, in our meeting centers, where there is a need for listening and consideration.”
