The Volunteering Fair, Wednesday 5 June at Nuo.Vo., saw the participation of numerous young people who took part in the many moments proposed by associations and schools with the Cuneo Volunteering Service Center Società Solidale. The over 600 students, from seven city high schools, visited the over 30 stands and met the volunteers, to understand what “volunteering” means.
“The Show – explains Valentina Fida, coordinator of the CSV Youth School and Volunteering project – is an important opportunity that allows young people to meet volunteers, exchange information but also a space to think about paths together. Many projects that we carried out in schools during the year were presented in Cuneo, many of the protagonists were at the stands with the volunteers and presented the activities to their peers. In this edition, many different subjects gave their contribution and this made it possible to experience a beautiful day of celebration and solidarity. While dismantling the salon I heard two girls saying to each other that it would be nice to find time to volunteer: this warms our hearts and makes us understand that we are on the right path. Young people, if accompanied delicately, want to get involved and make their contribution”.
Among the stands there were the kids from the peer education project “Be IN different of the IIS Grandis who, through artistic performances, told the story of the path undertaken during the year, and the students engaged in Pcto courses (the former “school-work alternation”) of the Liceo De Amicis who supported the volunteers of the associations of the “Approach to Flight” project. The students of the Cuneo Music High School enlivened the event with lots of music, making all the participants dance: students, professors, volunteers, organizers. Also present at the show were the young people from the “Giovani_Wannabe” communication campaign, a Cuneo project which aims to dispel the clichés that spread among young people. Liceo De Amicis also presented the ViVa – Sviluppo Lavoro Italia project to combat gender violence created with the Telefono Donna association and proposed, in collaboration with Emmaus, the Swap Party. Finally, the students of the IPCS optical course. Grandis presented the project “Looks aimed at the social” which involved some users of the San Vincenzo Cuneo association.
