The child who disappeared in the Aosta Valley has been found in Cuneo

A day after his escape, the almost five-year-old boy kidnapped by his mother in Aosta on Thursday was found in Cuneo. «We were contacted by the Aosta Police Headquarters yesterday, Friday, at 10pm – says Valery Lucci, maternal aunt where the child, taken from his mother, had been placed – and they told us that they had found Muhammed Lamin Camara in Cuneo. We immediately left and realized with joy that the little one was fine. We have not met the mother, Fatoumatta Ceesay. Muhammed slept throughout the journey, we arrived home at 4 in the morning and he still hasn’t spoken.”

Following the kidnapping, the search began immediately. «After having located the mother’s cell phone in Turin – continues the aunt – the police continued to follow the signal, in real time, and arrived in Cuneo». The child, upon order of the Court, had been placed with his aunt and uncle «after a series of mistreatment (later denied by the woman’s lawyer). Her mother no longer cared about him, she did not feed him and did not take care of her personal hygiene.” says Châtillon’s aunt. The escape occurred from the home for women with problems in Aosta where her mother lives, during a weekly meeting scheduled by a multidisciplinary team of Social Services, with authorization from the Juvenile Court. The visit was no longer protected, but free, after an assessment of the mother’s parenting skills, with the presence of an educator when the child passed from the uncles to the mother and vice versa.
