Como, budget to save yourself. Operations in five roles

It’s time to say it loud and clear. Also to banish clichés. Como has allocated a budget for next season of around 25-28 million euros. Translated into potential, a budget to aim for salvation, at least judging by making comparisons with last season.

To take a look and get an idea, the highest budget last year was for Juventus at 125 thousand euros, the lowest for Lecce at 16 million.

Engagements

Lecce, Empoli, Verona, Frosinone, Udinese, Bologna traveled between 16 and 29. Then they went up. It’s about salary. And after all, defining a high or low budget is very difficult, because it depends on what type of operations you do. There are, paradoxically, those who manage to find a decisive player on a free transfer, or those who manage to make money with the transfers of players under contract (but this will not be the case for Como). Beyond the ballet of figures, which is always questionable and in some ways difficult to understand, what has been decided is that the landing on the Serie A planet will be very prudent, with salvation as the only objective. There is the awareness that the impact could be traumatic, but among the certain characteristics of this Como there is always the possibility of operating on the run, given that there is no shortage of available parachutes. After all, this is a company that is very careful about its accounts, despite the Hartonos’ famous heritage. In Serie B it went with a careful market, in Serie A thanks to a sprint in the January market which was the result of a reasoning: if certain sums had been spent in the summer for a fourth-fifth place, the order was to complete the work, and so here’s 10 million for ongoing operations.

The rest has always been, football-wise, very balanced, even the Fabregas operation was disguised as a sale of shares, therefore with a particular formula. At most, proportionally, more is spent on the non-football project. On the field, the Serie B project is now being repeated: salvation in the first year, then consolidation of the category, and then climbing the rankings in the following years. The most important year will be next, because in Serie A the situation can always get out of hand, if you are relegated in January it is difficult to recover (but it happened, at Salernitana two years ago, for example) etc. etc. The plan does not include huge purchases.

July

The market will enter the hot phase at the beginning of July, even if some negotiations such as those for Pinamonti, for Ferrari and for Boloca del Sassuolo have started. The question remains as to who from last year’s team will be confirmed and who will not. Apparently a group of players like Nsame, Cassandro, Curto, Ballet should leave. Just like Fumagalli, which however is a different matter: the club believes in him and will send him to mature elsewhere. In midfield the position of Abildgaard must be defined, who has played less with the arrival of Braunoder and could leave. Bellemo, Iovine and Gabrielloni will be given a chance in Serie A as a reward for what they have given in recent years. Fixed points Da Cunha, Cutrone, Braunoder (to be redeemed), Verdi, Strefezza, Ioannou, Sala, Kone. Baselli? We don’t know. We will need two midfielders with good feet, at least two attacking wingers, a short right-back, a couple of central defenders. And the goalkeeper? At 90% he could remain, but watch out for the situation because Fabregas also wants a goalkeeper with good feet.
