The Provincial Unitary Committee of the Resistance of La Spezia remembers the partisan Vega Gori “Ivana”, who recently passed away.
The Provincial Unitary Committee of the Resistance of La Spezia, learned of the disappearance of the partisan Vega Gori “Ivana”expresses his sincere condolences to his daughter Maria Cristina Mirabello, vice-president of the La Spezia Institute for the History of Resistance and the Contemporary Age, and to her family.
Vega Gori joined the Resistance at a very young age after 8 September 1943, serving in the Sap Brigade and carrying out the valuable role of courier and typist for the PCI and the CLN. You have always remembered the season of the Resistance as the phase that gave light to your life, enriching it with those ideals of justice and freedom that you transmitted until the end, with your testimonies, to the new generations. Shortly before dying she found the strength to answer the questions of the children at the June 2nd school.
The memory of the partisan “Ivana” will live on strong as an example and incentive to carry out the most important duty every day: the creation of a fully democratic and anti-fascist country.
