Abramo CC, send the ballot papers to the Prefect of Crotone, the employees: you don’t deserve our vote

CROTONE – “An extreme gesture to highlight our profound frustration and the sense of abandonment we feel in the face of the inertia of the institutions”. This is what the workers of Abramo Cc wrote in the letter sent to the Prefect of Crotone to accompany the package in which they sent, by registered mail, the ballot papers collected in recent days as a form of protest against the silence on their affair. Around 200 ballot papers were canceled and sent to the prefect: not many, to be honest, compared to the number of Abramo CC employees involved in Crotone.
What certainly gives meaning to this protest is the letter inserted in the envelope which testifies to the sense of abandonment: “The workers of Abramo customer care spa, supported by numerous citizens of Crotone, hand over their ballot papers as a sign of protest at the silence around the their situation which has been going on for years now and is in its final stages. Anyone who doesn’t care about the future of every Italian citizen doesn’t deserve our vote.”

In fact, the precarious situation of Abramo CC has been known for at least two years now – since the company Abramo CC was subjected to extraordinary administration. Two years during which we thought too much about the immediate result and not about the long-term relaunch of the company or a structural solution. Also complicit are previous and current government inattentions, which have never given weight to a dispute that affected over 1,000 workers in Southern Italy. Now we’re at the showdown.
The extension with which a temporary solution was found for 1,000 employees expires on June 30th. From July 1st everyone will be out of work if something doesn’t happen at the Ministry of Business which announced a crisis table after the European elections.
In the meantime it has been discovered that maneuvers for the sale of a business branch of Abramo CC began in March: the one remaining with the Tim contract which employs 347 people. The transfer, authorized by the Ministry of Business, however does not involve hiring everyone and this does not please employees and unions.
