The idea of a school more open to the world of work is a model inspired by Europe and which Italian schools try to emulate. Some schools and training bodies promote School/Work Alternation projects, aimed at young students aged 15 to 18, with the aim of facilitating professional orientation through experiences that connect theoretical training with practical training.

A concrete example

A concrete example is the experience of the III C students of the “Thermo-hydraulic Operator and Motor Vehicle Repair Operator” course of the “Scuola dei Mestieri” of the “Logos” training body. On 6 June 2024, these students began a practical course on “Integrated Systems” at the CREA company in Ragusa, specialized in Audio, Video and Home Automation. This internship, lasting 30 hours, represents an opportunity for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real working context.

CREA of Ragusa offers a range of alternation courses, internships, PON and training internships in Home Automation and Corporate Marketing. These courses are aimed at installers and technicians, architects and engineers, and at students of various fields such as Marketing, Communication, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Thermo-hydraulic, IT and for Surveyors.

The Logos training organization is accredited by the Sicilian Region and has been operating in the training sector for over twenty years. With the reform of the second cycle of education and training, Logos created “La Scuola dei Mestieri”, promoting IeFP (Vocational Education and Training) paths. These paths allow students to obtain a professional technical qualification or diploma through three- or four-year studies.

The school of trades

“La Scuola dei Mestieri” by Logos is present in Ragusa, Vittoria and Adrano (province of Catania), and offers education that responds to the needs of the constantly evolving job market. Continuous training is essential to adapt to new technologies and requests for “turnkey” solutions from end users.

CREA, technical and commercial dealer of Vantage (world leader in home automation), has always focused on the training of innovative experts. The company integrates training and consultancy with business processes, ensuring that its employees’ skills meet customer needs and expectations.

The internship experience offers students a significant opportunity for direct contact with the world of work and the acquisition of specific application skills. Interacting with corporate realities allows technical, professional and high school institutes to adapt study plans to the needs of the job market.
