A day of events is planned in Parcocittà

Foggia is among the pioneer cities of ethical finance. It has around 400 members in the province, committed individually and in their own association networks to promoting the culture of conscious use of one’s money. For this reason, the Board of Directors of Banca Etica, the first and only Italian bank entirely dedicated to ethical finance, has chosen the Daunian capital for the annual expanded strategic planning meeting which will take place on Tuesday 11 June at Villaggio Don Bosco in Località Vaccarella, one of the headquarters of the Emmaus association and third sector business group.

THE PRESS CONFERENCE. On this occasion, the president, the councilors and the general manager of the bank will meet the press to illustrate the data achieved in Foggia, in the province and in Puglia and to anticipate projects and initiatives for the future. “The 25-year anniversary is the fruit of a long commitment aimed at transforming the financial sector into an engine of change, capable of generating positive impacts for peace, the environment, inclusion and social justice” He says Anna Fasanopresident of Banca Etica who he remembers as “i many members active in Foggia have had and have a crucial role in the birth and development of Banca Etica, particularly in Puglia. Some projects carried out over the years with the Province of Foggia have been forerunners of our financial inclusion activities: I am thinking of the initiatives to facilitate access to credit for third sector bodies and the most fragile businesses in the area or the microcredit and microfinance project ‘Let’s Give Credit to Women’, financed over the years by the Monti Uniti Foundation which has allowed various female micro-enterprises to be founded and developed or, again, to support Emmaus and Pietra di Scarta which, together with many other entities, carry out job placement and contrast on a daily basis to the gangmaster”. “Accompanying the growth of Banca Etica has been and still is a concrete way to work for peace: it means knowing and being able to choose how to invest our money and refusing to finance, for example, the arms market”, he adds Rita De Padovafounder and representative of the Emmaus associations who has long been a member of the Board of Directors of Banca Etica.

THE DAY OF PARTY. The celebration of 25 years of activity includes a day full of events in Parcocittà: the seminar is scheduled for 5pmThe third sector after the pandemic: challenges and prospects”. The meeting will pay particular attention to the role of ethical and cooperative finance in supporting the growth and development of the third sector (here is the complete programme). At 7.30 pm, there will be a party open to citizens. After the institutional greetings of the people who are directors of the Bank, thanks to the dynamic management of the artist Fabio Saccomani, some of the companions of these wonderful first 25 years in our territory will go on stage to tell their story in Banca Etica. Following the Show Capaci di Cambiare, a reading by Nunzia Antonino with Vince Abbracciante on texts extracted from the book It is no coincidence that it was written by Daniela Marcone with the preface by don Luigi Ciotti.
