Prato, 8 June 2024 – The running evenings of the “Prato per la Vita” circuit continue successfully, having reached the penultimate stage at the Mcl club in Vergaio. Thanks to the impeccable logistics of GS Le Lumache di Mezzana, which set up various stages of the circuit, the event continues to gather memberships and enthusiastic participation.
Around a hundred runners showed up for the event, starting the route at 7pm with a free start. These evening events, born from the collaboration between local running clubs and the UISP of Prato, offer participants a unique experience thanks to a route always manned by volunteers. The traveling running circuit, which changes the starting point every week, has become a traditional and highly anticipated event. The circuit formula, with a registration fee of just 2 euros, has enjoyed great success over the years. The proceeds, net of organizational expenses, are donated to the San Vincenzo de’ Paoli charity, which supports people in need, and to the Asd Special Team Onlus, which promotes sport and inclusiveness.
Participants were able to choose between an 8/9 km route or a 4/5 km mini walk, allowing everyone to participate according to their abilities and desires. The next and last appointment is scheduled for June 11th in Figline, where the final stage will be celebrated with a big party. The runners will be welcomed by the Asd 29 Martiri, which will take care of setting up the route and providing refreshments. For the occasion, a convivial was organized with meters and meters of pizza, cold cuts and “no limit” flatbread, as Marcello Calamai, president of the association, says. This series of solidarity events, culminating on July 11th, represents one of the most beautiful and significant events organized by the UISP of Prato. The joy of having experienced unique moments of sport and solidarity will remain in the hearts of all participants.
