The eleven people involved in an investigation into the work at the Carife landfill, a center in the province of Avellino, were all acquitted. Various charges: abuse of office, forgery, environmental disaster, building violations.
This afternoon the ruling of the Court (president Pezza, alongside Murgo and Perrotta), which acquitted Donato Addona (lawyer Roberto Prozzo), from Pontelandolfo, designer and director of works, Silvestro of six charges, because the fact does not exist Aquino (lawyer Raffaele Tecce), from Avellino, Carlo Giardino (lawyer Enzapaola Catalano), from Ariano Irpino, members of the tender commission, Gerardo Cipriano (lawyer Salvatore Rosania), from Torella dei Lombardi, geologist and co-designer, Umberto D’ Amelio (lawyer Filippo Liguori), from Naples, sole director of ‘Ecotech’, Pietro Famiglietti (lawyer Maurizio Mastrogiovanni), from Castel Baronia, sole director of ‘Famiglietti Group’, Felice Antonio Garofalo (lawyer Vincenzo Corazzelli), from Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi, PO manager, Pasquale Giordano (lawyer Elvira Spagnuolo), di Saviano, legal representative of ‘Fratelli Giardino’, Ivano Siciliano (lawyer Corazzelli), di Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi, regional technician, Gaetano Innamorato (lawyer Domenico Carchia) , of Carife, Rocco Zizza (Francesco Lodise), of Carife, responsible at different times for the municipal technical office of Carife, the first also president of the tender commission.
For six defendants – Addona, D’Amelio, Famiglietti, Giordano, Innamorato and Zizza – the statute of limitations was declared for another six charges, while Zizza was acquitted, because the fact does not constitute a crime, of another accusation.
In the investigators’ sights is the tender for the reclamation and safety works of the municipal landfill in the Fontanelle area, worth 1 million 800 thousand euros, and the methods of carrying out the intervention.
