PESARO Thirty-eight mayors to choose from in the province of Pesaro Urbino. The big day has arrived. Citizens with the right to vote will be able to go to the polls today from 3pm to 11pm and tomorrow from 7am to 11pm. Once voting is declared closed, the counting operations for the election of Italy’s members of the European Parliament will begin. Counting for the municipal elections will begin at 2pm on Monday 10th.

A few numbers

In Pesaro there are 80,862 people entitled to vote, of which 38,804 men and 42,058 women. The oldest is a woman who is 108 years old on the date of the vote. They are asked to choose between 4 mayoral candidates (Andrea Biancani centre-left, Marco Lanzi in the centre-right, Pia Pericci for venire Oltre and Fabrizio Oliva for Spazi Liberi) in the 106 polling stations spread across the city. The Municipality of Pesaro has replaced 6 of its usual seats. Those (3 sections) of the demolished Anna Frank school move to the premises of the Vismara district (in via Basento, in the spaces that house the school); the municipal premises of Pozzo Alto are replaced by the parish ones (1 section); those in via Petrarca 18 in Muraglia (3 sections) move, a few meters away, to the Salice Gualdoni socio-cultural center. The seats of the Mascarucci school (5 sections) will be located in viale Trieste 236, in the temporary headquarters of the Mascarucci primary school. Furthermore, the 3 sections located in the Perticari complex (corso XI Settembre 203) are transferred to the Mengaroni high school complex, with access from via Mengaroni 29; the 2 sections of Candelara, already located at the former elementary school in Strada della Pieve, were temporarily transferred to the district headquarters in Strada Borgo S. Lucia 40. In Fano there are 3 candidates (Cristian Fanesi, Luca Serfilippi and Stefano Marchegiai ) and the voters are 51,783 of which 25,048 males and 26,735 females. In Urbino there are 3 candidates (Maurizio Gambini, Federico Scaramucci and Francesca Maria Crespini) who can be voted for by 12,156 voters. Extraordinary openings of the registry offices for electoral cards are also planned: Headquarters (largo Mamiani 28), extraordinary opening: today 9am – 11pm, tomorrow from 7am to 11pm. Same opening times for the Villa Fastiggi desk (via Concordia) . For the Cinque Torri desk (Largo Volunteers of Blood, 9) extraordinary opening today from 9am to 1pm and tomorrow from 7am to 1pm. For the Muraglia desk (via Petrarca, 20) extraordinary opening tomorrow from 7am to 1pm. and same opening hours for the Cattabrighe (via Ticino 6) and Borgo Santa Maria (via Lancisi) branches.

Services

To facilitate the movement of voters from the replaced polling stations, a free shuttle service will be provided. Today the trips will leave at 4pm, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm from via Agostini 144 (former Soria primary school) to reach viale Trieste 236 (new Mascarucci school headquarters) after 10 minutes. From via Agostini, at 4.15pm, 5.15pm, 6.15pm and 7.15pm the shuttle will first reach Santa Maria delle Fabbrecce (stop on the SS16) at 4.30pm, 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm, then the polling stations in via Basento at 4.35pm, 5.35pm, 6.35pm and 7.35pm. The vehicle will make the return journey (last journey at 7.55pm in via Agostini). Tomorrow the trips are scheduled every hour, from via Agostini, starting from 9 am and ending at 7.55 pm.
