Pesaro2024. Discover Carpegna from 12 to 16 June – La Piazza

Pesaro2024. Discover Carpegna from 12 to 16 June; the ‘Capital squared’ of the ’50×50′ project dedicated to the excellence of the province. Key themes of the program entitled “Carpegna between Nature, Art, Traditions, Gastronomy”, the environment, traditions, typical products, art in all its forms. It sees the fifty Municipalities of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in turn, Capital for a week in 2024.

The program – entitled ‘Carpegna between Nature, Art, Traditions, Gastronomy’ – aims to raise awareness and enhance the excellence and peculiarities of this fascinating destination: the uncontaminated environment, the local traditions, the typical products, the art of these places in all its forms. Considering that the Municipality is affected by the local elections, it was decided to concentrate the events from Wednesday 12th to Sunday 16th June.

Present at the press conference were: Daniele Vimini, president of the Pescheria Centro Arti Visive Foundation; for the Municipality of Carpegna, the councilor for Culture Luca Pasquini and Francesco Mazzarini delegate for Culture and Events; Paolo Cesaretti president of the Casciotta d’Urbino Consortium.

Daniele Vimini opened: we are very happy to present the Carpegna week, in one of the most beautiful periods of the year to appreciate the nature and landscape of our territory. For us it has a particular meaning: first of all because between the two Municipalities there is a historic planning collaboration in many areas – not least sport – and then there is a strong bond on culture as art but also as a culture of opportunities in the open air open. And then because Carpegna – and Montefeltro – was one of the focal points with which we set the 50×50 strategy thanks also to the dialogue with nearby Romagna. So this week is the possibility of reconnecting with this part of the territory through the artists, the hoteliers and all the citizens involved in a great cultural exercise also in view of the challenge of the next day: the race for European Capital of Culture 2033. I thank Carpegna also for having welcomed two projects that are characterizing 50×50, namely Cosa c’è DOP with Food Brand Marche and ‘Castelli Nascosti’ curated by Alessandra Mindoli to discover little-known places.

Luca Pasquini continued: we are happy with this week also because it will help tourism, it is our lever and in the last two years we have increased attendance by 33% also thanks to school tourism. Those who come to Carpegna come for the nature, the landscape, the pure air and the typical important products such as Prosciutto di Carpegna DOP exported all over the world and therefore our program focuses on the cultural and environmental characteristics of Carpegna in the heart of the Sasso Park Simone and Simoncello.

Francesco Mazzarini underlined how the Carpegna week perfectly summarizes the cultural themes that constitute the backbone of the summer festival with local artists. And then also many trekking proposals, an area much sought after by tourists who come here.

Paolo Cesaretti recalled the value of a project like Cosa c’è DOP which allows the food and wine excellences of a territory to be appreciated first and foremost by its inhabitants, a fundamental target. This is why Food Brand Marche – an association that unites the 8 consortia for the protection of GI (geographical indication) products in the region – was happy to join.

50X50 Capitals squared
Born in the name of a highly participatory method, the macro-project sees the fifty Municipalities of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, ‘Capital’ for a week in 2024. The rich 12-month program brings together over 350 subjects thanks to an unprecedented work choral among the administrations sanctioned by a protocol, involves hundreds of artists and creatives and represents an invitation to a journey between nature and culture, to discover a polycentric and polyphonic land, between sea and hills. 50×50 was born from a collective intelligence that also works on small communities and understands the territory not only within the urban ring but as a precious network of relationships and bonds over a vast area that needs to be expanded: because the Capital of Culture is a opportunity to increase the cultural capital of all citizens. By placing the focus on individual excellences, the great picture of a province takes shape that wants to present itself at its best to Italy and the world with the ambition of being a real laboratory of ideas for the other cities that are candidates for Italian capital of culture.
