CAMPOBASSO – Yesterday the municipality of Campobasso, through a council resolution, approved the project for the redevelopment of the “Di Lisio” garden in Piazza della Vittoria.

The historic villa in via Petrella, which houses the war memorial, is one of the most significant gardens in the city from both a historical and landscape point of view. Despite the continuous care of the greenery, the rebuilding of the benches and other maintenance interventions carried out in recent years, the garden requires important structural intervention to redefine the paving of the pedestrian paths, now in gravel, and the flowerbeds, as well as the restoration of the bases of the benches and the arrangement of the 27 tiles for the trees surrounding the garden.

The intervention, which is already financed with municipal resources and which will therefore be able to start in a short time, involves the complete renovation of the walkable areas with light-coloured architectural concrete, in order to redefine the boundaries with the green flowerbeds, now completely lost due to of the absence of curbs. In this way the area will become more accessible and safe, even for the disabled, and the house will be able to regain its now lost original shape and design.

In this context, an irrigation system will also be set up for each flower bed, so as to be able to reconstruct the vegetal and shrubby system to complement the precious essences that characterize the garden.
