Final phases for the second edition of the Umbria journalists’ padel tournament, named in memory of my colleague Giuseppe Occhioni. After two months of challenges, passing through the elimination rounds, three played at the San Martino in campo tennis court in Perugia and one at the Terni Workers’ Club, and the semi-finals, both played at the facility on the outskirts of the capital, the recreational sports event organized by Ussi Umbria in close collaboration with President Giuliano Baiocchi’s Csen Perugia, has reached its final stages. In fact, the final for third place is scheduled for Monday 3 June at 7pm between the Perugian couple Andrea Checcarelli (freelance) / Ilaria Cesaroni (Perugia Provincial Office) and the Spoleto couple Francesco De Augustinis (freelance) / Davide Fabrizi ( Spoleto Municipality Office).
While the final that will award the title between the couple Maurizio Baglioni (UniPg press office) / Fabio Meattelli (freelance) and the one composed of Antonio Ciorba (freelance) / Luca Pisinicca (Rai Tgr Umbria) is scheduled for Monday 10 June at the same time. Both matches will be played at the San Martino tennis and padel club in campo.
On the same evening as the final, the awards dinner will take place, in the presence of the political and sporting institutions, the Ussi Umbria board of directors, the sponsors and the family of the unforgettable Giuseppe Occhioni. The ceremony will take place immediately after the final, around 8.30pm in the catering facility of the Nuova Alba sports centre, adjacent to the San Martino in campo padel tennis club.
