VARESE – Davide Galimberti sees the halfway mark of his second term. Some timid movements in view of 2027 can be felt inside and outside the wide field that guides Palazzo Estense. The mayor, however, still holds the reins on administrative life. «Varese has changed in these 8 years. Just wander around the city to see the completed works, those in the pipeline and construction sites underway. There is still a lot of work to be done between now and the end of the mandate.”

And he adds: «Thanks to the European resources allocated to the city, two neighborhoods will undergo a profound transformation in terms of liveability and structures dedicated to schools and culture. I am referring to Masnago and San Fermo.”

It is perhaps the challenge of the second mandate: «For years we have been thinking about allocating spaces for student housing it is essential to guarantee residency for those studying in Varese. Farsighted choice for a neighborhood like Biumo which has the characteristics to become an area for university students. The objective is to make Varese a connection city between Switzerland, Malpensa and Milan».
