CATANIA – He had a kilo of marijuana and half a kilo of hashish at home: the Financiers of the Provincial Command of Catania arrested a person in the San Cristoforo district. The drugs seized on the market would have had a value of approximately 11 thousand euros. The man is under house arrest.

As stated in a press release from the Financial Policethe soldiers of the Etna Economic-Financial Police Unit, after having noticed suspicious movements around a house in the San Cristoforo district, began observation of the place, acquiring clues about the use of the structure as a place to store drugs.
The financiers then searched the house, finding containers, wrappers and blocks containing marijuana and hashish, as confirmed by the rapid analysis via narcotest. During the activity, 7 illegally possessed 12 gauge cartridges were also found.
The kidnapping and arrest
The narcotics and ammunition were seizedwhile the person targeted by the search was arrested in flagrante delicto for illicit possession of ammunition and narcotic or psychotropic substances.
The drugs found, we read again in the statement from the Financial Policewas probably intended to supply the local drug dealers and would have had a retail market value of 10/11 thousand euros.
Following investigations by the Catania Financial Police the investigating judge at the Etna Court, at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, validated the seizure by ordering the measure of house arrest.
