(Arv) Venice 7 June. 2024 – Great success with the public, including internationally, for the exhibition “Grand Hotel Venezia. One hundred years, from dream hotel to institutional headquarters” set up in Palazzo Ferro Fini by the Veneto Regional Council with the patronage of the Municipality of Venice. The photographic and documentary exhibition tells what the Palazzo del Consiglio was before becoming the regional headquarters and presents a fresco of unpublished stories and illustrious presences in Venice between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. A suggestive theme, not only for Venetians but also for tourists, attracted in recent days by the sails appearing in the Actv piers of San Samuele and Santa Maria del Giglio and on the livery of the tram that connects Venice and Mestre. “It is the first time, after the Great Exhibitions promoted in the 70s and 80s at Palazzo Ducale, that an exhibition initiative of the Regional Council has gained publicity in the streets and on public transport of Venice – comments the general secretary of the Council , Roberto Valente – We thank the Municipality of Venice and Venezia Unica for collaborating on the documentary research that made this exhibition possible and for embracing its inspiring thought: to restore to Venice and the Venetians the awareness and prestige of their own recent history, made of courage and entrepreneurial innovation, of vision, of glamor and of the search for elegance and beauty”. Among the illustrious guests who stopped at the Ferro Fini in recent days to visit the exhibition was also Federico Faggin, the ‘father’ of microchips and Leone del Veneto 2016. The ‘Grand Hotel Venezia’ exhibition remains open until 30 November and can be visited every day, from Monday to Friday, from 10am to 5pm. Free entry, guided tours can be booked at [email protected].
