Once the Serie A Championship is over, it’s time to take stock. One of the most anticipated ones is undoubtedly that of highest average viewership.
Serie A as a whole closes with a decidedly high average viewership, that is 30,911 spectators for each race. To see higher numbers, in fact, you have to go to the 1997/98 season, which saw an average of 31,223 spectators.
According to the ranking drawn up by Football and Financethe first place for average spectators was conquered byInterwho finished the season at the top with an average of 72,838 spectators, achieved after the last home match against Lazio. The Nerazzurri club recorded a slight increase compared to the previous season, when the average was 72,641 spectators.
The Nerazzurri are chased by Milan, which exceeds the threshold of 72 thousand spectators (72,008 on average) and shows an increase compared to the 2022/23 season. In third place we find the Rome, which in the 2023/24 Serie A brought almost 63 thousand spectators per match to the Olympic stadium, often coming close to selling out. Completing the top 5 are Naples and the Laziowith an average of 46 thousand and 44 thousand spectators respectively. Great result also for Leccewhich takes ninth place with an average of 26,643 spectators per match.
Half a million at Via del Mare
There were over half a million spectators present at Via del Mare in the 19 home matches of the 2023/2024 Serie A TIM, with an average of 26,645 fans per game.
The matches with the two Capitoline teams were those that recorded the highest number of attendances: Lecce – Lazio 29,081 while Lecce – Rome 29,031.
