Climate change, the heat is growing: record data in Cremona

Climate change continues to have a major impact on our territory, which is one of those that marks a record increase in temperatures, together with Sondrio. The data emerges from the Istat report, which published the historical series of temperature and precipitation on the occasion of World Earth Day.

The more significant climatic differences for 2022 they have been registered in three cities, including Cremona. First Modena, where +3.4°C was recorded compared to the decade 2005-2016, second Sondrio with +2.6°C, and third, precisely, Cremona, with +2.4°C.

On the other hand, again according to Istat, examining the average temperature of 2022 and comparing it with that of 2016, it emerges that all the Lombardy capitals, with the exception of Bergamo, had increases above 1°C. In this case, Cremona is the worst off after Sondrio, with a +2.7°C. In fact, if in 2016 we were talking about 14.4 °C, in 2022 it will rise to 17.

According to Istat, tropical nights also increase, i.e. those in which more than 20 degrees are recorded: Cremona also sets a record in this, with an increase of 41%. Just as summer days are also growing, i.e. those with highs above 25: Cremona is the hottest Lombardy capital, with a +51.6%. LaBos
