Arezzo – The life and writing of Giorgio Vasari: scholars, writers and intellectuals discuss the figure of the famous artist 450 years after his death. At 6pm in the conference room of the City of Arezzo Library (via dei Pileati, 8) with “Dialogues on Giorgio Vasari”. On the programme: “Vasari: the collector of the lives of great artists” with Francesca Chieli in conversation with Ingrid Rowland, author of the book “Vasari: the collector of the lives of great artists” (Mondadori). All presentations will be interspersed with readings of some passages from “Le Vite” by Alessandra Bedino. The initiative falls within the scope of the “Arezzo. The city of Vasari” which, from May 2024 to February 2025, will connect Arezzo museums, libraries and archives to celebrate the painter, architect and art historian who became the emblem of the multifaceted late Renaissance genius (free entry, info on www.discoverarezzo.com and www.fondazioneguidodarezzo.com).

Arezzo – From 6 pm at the Casa dell’Energia Convention Center via Leone Leoni 1 Gabriele Merlo, the national coordinator of the Zoofile Guards and director of the Leidaa training courses, an animal rights activist with over 30 years of experience in Italy and abroad, presents “Save a life, the best-selling book on animalism ever written to date.” Buffet will follow. Arezzo – The 40th anniversary of the Liceo Musicale. On stage, among others, there will also be some former students of the first class from 40 years ago. The evening, hosted by Elisa Pieschi and coordinated by Lea Mencaroni, will take place at the Petrarca Theater on Friday 7 June at 9pm and will feature various musical groups with the aim of demonstrating the progress made by the Students over the last year. The Ensembles will be directed by Professors Roberto Bichi, Claudia Vigini, Alessio Tiezzi, Lorenzo Rossi, Maurizio Pasqui, Simone Ferrini and, during the concert, the piece “La Zanzara” by student Daniele Begliomini, overall winner of the National Composition Competition, will also be performed “The Garden of Apollo”.

Arezzo – At 6 pm in the “San Donato” Terrace at the Palace of the Province of Arezzo, a concert will be held by the Cesalpino Orchestra, conducted by maestro Massimo Melani. The concert entitled “Summer Dream” will consist of several musical pieces adapted for orchestra including: “Galaxy”, “Under the See” (from the Cartoon The Little Mermaid), Nausicaa and many other famous songs. The public will sit on the steps of the Duomo and in addition to listening to the music they will be able to enjoy the beautiful location which for the occasion via Ricasoli will be closed to cars. In case of rain the concert will be held in the hall of the greats of the Palazzo della Provincia.
