A 38-year-old Argentine tennis coach sentenced to 5 years and 2 months for sexual abuse of minors. He had trained in tennis clubs in Fano and also in Pesaro and had ended up on trial, with an abbreviated trial, before the Pesaro court for having groped three teenagers who, at the time of the events (between 2017 and 2021), were aged 12 to 15 years of age and who have joined the civil action. The three children (assisted by the lawyers Irene Ciani, Simone Candelora and Cristiana Cicerchia) had told everything to their parents and to the police who investigated the matter: they had reported that they had been groped several times in the car to reach the fields or that they had been touched in the private parts in the changing rooms.
The 38-year-old, defended by lawyer Cristiana Ugolini, defended himself by saying that he was very sorry and that he had not realized how inappropriate his “Argentine attitude” was. For the coach, who currently lives in the Pesaro hinterland and for whom house arrest has been revoked since the beginning of the year, the judge also ordered, as a safety measure, the obligation to stay away from any place frequented by minors including the impossibility of teaching tennis to kids. Furthermore, the judge, by way of compensation, ordered the payment of 50 thousand euros for the two youngest children and 20 thousand euros for the one who was 15 years old at the time.
