The minority group intervenes: “Overview, necessary work”

“The completion of the Overview is fundamental, an important and strategic work.” The minority group Per l’Argentario, made up of Marco Nieto, Maria Sabatini and Anna Laura Fedele, intervenes on the last municipal council and on the works discussed in the meetings. “The city council of 4 June saw as its agenda the variation of the Dup 2024/2026 to make the modification of the amount established at the time for the completion of the panoramic road that connects Porto Santo Stefano with Porto Ercole – underline Nieto, Fedele and Sabatini – adding, to the two million euros allocated by the Tuscany Region, five hundred thousand euros of municipal funds. We reiterate the importance of completing this important and strategic work, forgotten by the current mayor in his previous 10 years of government and. returned to attention thanks to the Region and our direct interest in the electoral campaign with President Giani, who kept his promise for our territory, already included in our electoral program in the “traffic and parking” chapter. at point 15, in fact it has great value from a tourist point of view: the circumnavigation of the promontory offers inimitable and breathtaking views, but it is also of considerable importance also and above all from the point of view of safety because it would guarantee our hamlets an alternative route escape”. The city council also discussed the allocation of 240 thousand euros for the construction of 11 raised and illuminated pedestrian crossings. “This particularly important topic should also have been addressed much earlier – they continue – when we proposed it from the beginning of the mandate through our proposal via email, but above all in the city council meeting on 8 September: unfortunately it remained a suggestion that was unheard and not shared by the current majority, who have fortunately changed their minds today. The installation of raised and illuminated pedestrian crossings throughout the territory of our municipality is a fundamental intervention to guarantee the safety of road users, in particular pedestrians. We abstained. as a council group, because we would have liked more guarantees from the council. Naturally we will not stand by and watch but we will monitor and report, honoring our role as an opposition that democracy has led us to play”.
