Legnano: Bad weather causes grass cuttings to slip

Amga wanted to explain to the citizens of Legnano how in this period with heavy rain it was almost impossible to intervene to mow the lawns.

Bad weather causes grass cuttings to slip

In this long period of alternation between sunny and rainy days (with a clear prevalence of the latter), also thanks to the not too hot temperatures, we are witnessing a notable growth of the grass: decidedly unstable weather conditions, therefore, which are influencing not a little on the timetables of companies dedicated to the maintenance of public green areas. On rainy days it is not possible to intervene to carry out the cuts, as well as on those immediately following bad weather, because intervening with machinery on a wet turf means, first of all, ruining the lawns with the formation of ruts and deep ruts and, secondly place, the wet and damp grass compacts on the blades of the machines and prevents cutting, causing damage to the engine and mechanical parts and not allowing an optimal result to be ensured.

Longer times waiting for good weather

AMGA is fully aware of the public areas which, thanks to the tall grass, present a less than perfect appearance and, on the basis of the timetable that it has had to reformulate, it is taking steps to implement all the actions contemplated in it. In this season, unfortunately, the maintenance of greenery requires maintenance workers to spend a long time and requires citizens to have greater tolerance for imperfections and reduced cutting methods.
