For the administrative elections of 8 and 9 June 2024, the Sicilian Region, as usual, will provide updates relating to voter turnout and electoral results on the portal http://www.elezioni.regione.sicilia.it. The provisional data from the polls, which will begin on Monday 10th at 2pm, will be published in real time as they are transmitted from the prefectures to the regional department of local governments.

During the voting operations, which will take place on Saturday 8 June from 3pm to 11pm and Sunday 9 June from 7am to 11pm, four turnout surveys will be published with a comparison of the data with those of the latest administrative elections of the municipalities involved. The broadcast times will be: Saturday at 11.30pm and Sunday at 12.30pm, 7.30pm and 11.30pm.

The electoral consultations

The electoral consultations concern the renewal of the mayors and councils of 37 municipalities (8 centers will vote with the proportional system while in 29 with the majority system). Information on candidacies for the office of mayor and on the lists participating in the consultations is available on the portal.

The voter can express one or two preferences for the candidates for the city council. If two preferences are expressed, they must be of different gender: one female and one male. If both preferences belong to the same genre, the second one will be canceled. The vote expressed for a list extends to the mayoral candidate connected to it but not vice versa.

Furthermore, in Sicily, the representatives for the renewal of the European Parliament are also voting at the same time.

The processing and dissemination of the data will be carried out using the Idec program, created with the collaboration of the regional Department of Economy, the digital Sicily company and the Island’s Prefectures.

The moving of polling stations to Palermo

The Electoral Coordination office informs voters that, due to causes of force majeure, the G. Fava school complex in Via Monte San Calogero n. 20 will not be able to host the polling stations for the European elections which will take place on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June 2024.

Voters of sections 20 and 216 will be able to regularly exercise their right to vote at the Gandhi school complex in via Sardegna n.55.

Voters of sections 96, 149 and 307 will be able to regularly exercise their right to vote at the C. Collodi school complex via Briuccia n. 89.
