MODENA – For the second time, the Archive of the Province of Modena participates together with “Archivi di Modena in rete” in Archivissima, the festival dedicated to the valorisation of archival heritage, focused this year on the theme of passions. On Friday 7 June 2024, the Palazzo della Provincia will be open to the public together with the other Modena institutes for “the Night of the Archives” and from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm on the third floor of the headquarters in Viale Martiri della Libertà 34 it will be possible to visit the exhibition “The visible passion: dialogue between paintings and documents”, a documentary exhibition set up on the main floor of the nineteenth-century building which houses the organisation, designed by the engineer-architect Cesare Costa.
Guided tours are scheduled at 6.00 pm and 7.30 pm and it is necessary to book for free online using the form published on the institution’s website at the address: www.provincia.modena.it/evento/archivissima-2024-7- June-archive-province-of-Modena-night-of-the-archives/
For the organizers «The main purpose of the exhibition is to stimulate the curiosity of the visiting public by shining the spotlight for at least one evening on the great documentary and historical-artistic heritage that the provincial administration possesses and which has the task of conserving and enhancing. Thanks to this event, through a mix of different languages and media, the general public can come into contact with the heritage and stories preserved in historical archives”.
The event is part of the program of the seventh edition of Archivissima, the festival dedicated to the valorisation of archival heritage from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 June in Turin, which this year proposes the theme of passions and which culminates throughout Italy on June 7th with The Night of the Archives.
