GROSSETO – A delegation from Sakura Judo was also present at the second round of the Gran Premio Giovanissimi, a judo competition which involved young athletes from all over Tuscany. The categories that competed on this day of fighting were all those of Pre-competition, from Boys to Children, and then arriving at Children.
It was an intense day of emotions for the nine young people of Judo Grosseto, who dominated the Palazzetto di Piombino, bringing home seven gold and two silver medals.
On the top step of the podium went Massimo Borracelli, Biagio Antonio Montariello, Enea Saggini, Mattia Romualdi, Gabriel Guidoni, Lapo Mencherini, Lapo, Nikita Foiu.
Maria Francesca Montariello and Federico Borracelli took second place (silver medal).
“The results obtained in this second stage of the Gran Premio Giovanissimi – commented the red and white club – have once again demonstrated that the work carried out by the Judo Grosseto technicians Andrea Casaglia and Riccardo Borracelli (with the precious and wise contribution of professional athlete Leonardo Casaglia, belonging to the Carabinieri Sports Group, judo section) who is leading their boys to achieve excellent results. The enthusiasm generated by these victories promises to be a starting point, increasingly motivating these young athletes to overcome difficulties, in order to achieve new goals and chase their dreams, with passion and determination. Thanks go to the families of these kids, who allowed them to participate in this stage, thus sacrificing a Sunday of celebration.”
The latest satisfaction for Sakura is the call up by Fijkam for the athlete Matteo Gualandi who will participate in the Cadet category at the European Championships, which will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, scheduled for 27 to 29 June.
