Giugliano. The Carabinieri of the operational section of Giugliano in Campania arrested two young people with no criminal record, an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old, both residents of Mugnano, for aggravated theft.

The military intervened after noticing a car, a Lancia Y, with three people on board moving in a suspicious manner in the Piazza Trieste e Trento area in Giugliano. The Carabinieri followed the car for several kilometers, observing that the occupants often stopped near parked vehicles.

In Mugnano, the car came alongside a Fiat Panda. One of the occupants of the Lancia got out and forced the door of the Panda, attempting to steal the black box installed on board. The Carabinieri intervened immediately, blocking the 18-year-old and the 15-year-old. The third accomplice managed to escape.

The two arrested will have to answer for aggravated theft. The Carabinieri also seized the burglary tools found in their car.

Further investigations are underway to verify whether the three young people are involved in other car thefts which occurred in Mugnano on the same night, in the same way.

The intervention of the Carabinieri made it possible to defeat a group of young criminals who were operating in the Mugnano area, making the citizens safe.
