Abraham dispute, the Government should give substance to its commitment to safeguarding jobs

«The Abramo Customer Care dispute – writes Tonino Russo, General Secretary of CISL Calabria in a note – concerns around 1100 workers who work in the provinces of Catanzaro, Crotone and Cosenza and who see their jobs seriously put at risk. In fact, June 30th will mark the cessation of orders for the company and the extraordinary administration will expire on August 8th. The consequences for workers and their families can be devastating. It is therefore time for the Government to immediately give concreteness to the commitment made to safeguard jobs in the immediate future and to open up decent prospects for the many skills gained over years of precarious work, skills that must not be lost for do not further impoverish the already seriously torn employment fabric of Calabria.

The CISL – concludes the Russian Regional Secretary – is at the forefront in its commitment to the growth of the territory and in the defense of workers’ rights. He will also be with them tomorrow at the demonstration in Catanzaro to demand that the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy immediately convene a discussion and solution table for the important dispute.”
