These are difficult days for Ancona, with the future of the football club appearing increasingly uncertain. Mayor Daniele Silvettias reported by The House of Che promised a “full emotional involvement” in the questionbut the prospect of exclusion from the next Serie C championship is becoming more and more concrete.
Recently, mayor Silvetti met Roberta Nocelli, sole administrator of the club, and the minority shareholder Canil. The parties have decided to meet again in a week, with Silvetti who requested a meeting to evaluate the company’s exposures and understand whether there are intentions to continue with the current management. “I asked for a meeting next week, as well as evidence of what the corporate exposures are and to understand if there are intentions to continue with this company“, declared the mayor.
The future of the club remains an enigma. Despite the salvation achieved on the last day by Boscaglia and his boys, the financial and organizational situation of the club is critical. The mayor also met with representatives of the Curva, who declared themselves disappointed but made specific requests to save the integrity of the club. “They ask that the registration number and the city be respected. We need transparency, there will be full involvement on my part“, said Silvetti.
The club’s future will depend on Covisoc’s decision, expected on June 10th. If the outcome is negative, the Federation will ask the mayor in which category to register the club, evaluating whether there will be business continuity or whether the company will pass to a new owner. “It depends on how Covisoc will decide on day 10. If the outcome is negative, the Federation will ask the Mayor which category below it intends to enroll the club in“, explained the mayor.
In case of relegation to Serie D, new entrepreneurs have been brought in to ensure the club’s future. Silvetti categorically ruled out any type of merger with other companies, as also reiterated by Curva representatives in a statement: “We reiterated and found common consensus on the fact that any type of merger with other companies will never be accepted, therefore this path is therefore excluded“.
The situation pushed fans and citizens to organize a demonstration of support for the club. Mayor Silvetti guaranteed his full support: “I will be there. And with me also the organized support and the whole city“. The fans, united in their desire to save the club, expressed full trust in the mayor and in his ability to find a solution that can guarantee dignity and credibility to the team and the city of Ancona.
