On the morning of June 4, officers from the Sanremo police station arrested a 19-year-old Tunisian citizen, caught red-handed while trying to steal a luxury car in Corso Marconi.

The operation was started at approximately 06:00, when a Flying Squad crew intervened at the request of 112 NUE, which reported an attempted car theft in progress.

Upon arrival on site, the Officers identified a luxury sports car with the young man on board, who attempted to flee at the sight of the police. Despite his aggressive behavior, with kicks and punches aimed at the officers, the young man was promptly stopped.

The owner of the vehicle approached immediately and was able to recover his car. Subsequently, he also discovered the theft of his mobile phone, which had been left inside the car.

During the intervention, the young man proved to be uncooperative and violent, even damaging the police car while trying to resist arrest. Once taken to the police station offices, the young man continued to display destructive behavior, damaging the ceiling of one of the safe rooms.

After the ritual acts, the young man was made available to the Judicial Authority of Imperia. The arrest was confirmed in the late morning of June 4, and the Preliminary Investigation Judge ordered precautionary custody in prison.
