AMAT – Marche Association of Theatrical Activities for Pesaro Italian Capital of Culture 2024 (project of the Municipality of Pesaro, MiC and the Marche Region with the Pescheria Foundation), in collaboration with APA – Associazione Pesarese Albergatori, promotes the creation of HOTELABYRINTH, a cycle of multidisciplinary residencies in hotel rooms on the Pesaro Riviera, in which artists – intruders among the tourists – observe, reflect and finally share with the public a performative outline for a future work.
As part of the project, a call for applications is launched aimed at selecting 3 artists for as many residencies lasting 10 days each which will take place in the period of September/October 2024 in Pesaro. At the end of the residency cycle, the artists will have to share the outcome of the work carried out in residence, in an event open to the public. The form of the event will also be agreed with AMAT based on the type of artistic discipline and the location.
Residences theme
What relationship is established between the architecture of a hotel and the lives it hosts and how does this relationship influence people’s behavior? What type of temporary living is tourism and what are the physical and emotional traces it produces? What does it mean to observe the city through the windows of a hotel?

Who is the invitation addressed to?
The invitation is addressed to individual artists, resident in the national territory or abroad and active in the following sectors: writing, musical composition and choreographic composition.
Eligibility requirements
Participants must possess the following requirements:
- have reached the age of 18;
- have an adequate CV.
Admission procedures
The professional experiences of the participants will be evaluated according to the following methods:
- examination of the CV sent by the candidate and any attached documentation;
- motivational letter.

Economic conditions
Participants will have room and board available at an accommodation facility in the city of Pesaro and a compensation of €3,000.00 each.
