The young people from Bologna of CSR Ju Jitsu Italia on top at the national championships in La Spezia. In the fighting system category, six budding champions managed to get as many medals around their necks, with one gold, three silvers and two bronzes as their spoils.

The students of the masters Antonella Farné and Pietro Rovigatti showed their talent on the tatami, starting with the brother and sister of the multiple Italian champion in the 57 kilo category who acted as coach in this event: Andrea in the under 14 -44 category chili wins bronze while Cecilia, competing in the under 16 -52 chili category, wins silver.

Both showed great determination and excellent technique. Another silver arrived in the under 18 -57 kilos category thanks to Greta Gubellini, the same metal won by Anthony Vittoria, among the under 18 -69 kilos.

The Tang brothers put in a notable performance, both medaling in the under 14 -57 kilos category: Federico Chengan won gold while Vittorio Chengle won bronze. Thanks to these results and the other medals of the club (Soudi Ikram under 14 -48 kilos gold, Enea Cortesi under 16 -56 kilos bronze, Giovanni Grandi under 16 -56 kilos silver, Giulia Di Meo under 16 -44 kilos gold) the CSR Ju-Jitsu Italia concluded the championships in second place in the rankings.

“I am very satisfied with everyone’s performance – says Farné – this event was preparatory to selecting the athletes for the World Championships in Crete in October. For the under 14s there will be a representation of four national places and for this reason it was essential to get on the podium while for the other categories it was necessary to finish in the top two. We managed to achieve the result with all our athletes. After hard training they found themselves facing expert opponents and with determination and skill they did very well”.
