At full speed. Health comes from the sea and the II Regata del Respiro, with efficiency and effectiveness, succeeded in its aim of shortening the distances between public health and citizens, highlighting the importance of prevention as the best treatment for pathologies.
The two days of free screening and the healthy and symbolic sailing in the waters of the Gulf, which took place at the Tourist Port of Manfredonia, repeated the excellent results of 2023, to the great satisfaction of the organization: the University Department of Respiratory Diseases of the D’Avanzo Hospital in Foggia directed by Prof. Donato Lacedonia, which makes use of the precious collaboration of the “Yachting Club Marina del Gargano”, whose members have always stood out for having promoted and organized activities aimed at social and public utility.
Supporting Prof. Lacedonia in the organization and effective implementation of the activities were Dr. Gianluca Ciliberti, his pulmonologist colleagues and doctors in training.
These are the numbers that tell the story of the success of the Regata del Respiro: 100 citizens visited with in-depth screening, 70 spirometries carried out, 14 boats who colored and animated the waters of the Gulf of Manfredonia to raise awareness of prevention and the adoption of healthy lifestyles to continue to be able to breathe deeply the scent of life while enjoying a nice walk by the sea with the beneficial taste of iodine.
