Tyrrhenian Link, Metropolitan City of Cagliari: “Concerned about the environmental impact”

The Metropolitan Council of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari undertakes to adopt an agenda relating to the project called “Tyrrhenian Link”.

The decision was taken at the end of the public meeting held yesterday evening, 3 June 2024, in an expanded form together with the Metropolitan Conference and in the presence of the territorial defense committees which requested a discussion on the issue.

The deputy metropolitan mayor Damiano Paolucci, the representatives of the committees, the metropolitan councilors and the mayors of the area intervened in the discussion.

At the conclusion of the debate, the Metropolitan City, expressing great concern for the environmental impacts of the Tyrrhenian Link intervention in the territories of the municipalities involved, in particular Quartu Sant’Elena and Selargius, as well as for other critical issues that emerged relating to the construction of wind and photovoltaic parks highlighted by some mayors, has undertaken to pursue three objectives: reconstruct the state of financing, and any planning, aimed at mitigating the effects of hydrogeological risk in the Selargius countryside; send this evidence, as soon as possible, to Terna Spa and all those involved in the project, including the municipal administrators and the “No Tyrrhenian Link” committee; request a meeting with the president of the Sardinia Region Alessandra Todde as a matter of urgency.

A large representation of citizens who are part of the territorial defense committees that presented the request also took part in the meeting.
