Terni, environmental protection: now a ‘table’ with associations and committees is born

A permanent table – quarterly – to collect information, reports and proposals to be evaluated from a political-administrative, management and operational perspective, also activating if necessary “collaboration with public entities operating in the administrative framework of environmental competences”. It is established by the Municipality of Terni and will see the participation of associations and committees operating in the field of environmental protection.

Well, the meaning? In essence – it is specified in the preliminary document – it is a useful creation for updating on the state of the environmental policies promoted and implemented by Palazzo Spada, on the chances of financing, the most important interventions and on the state of the administrative authorization procedures. It will include the environment councilor Mascia Aniello, the manager Paolo Grigioni and the representatives of local associations/committees that “have environmental protection as a general public interest in their statutory declarations”. All this in a “transparent and participatory manner”.

There is a bit of pressure on the topic. Corso del Popolo points out that the environmentalist associations and committees formed over time «constantly submit their requests, including to the municipal administration, also with proactive contributions, highlighting environmental critical issues in the various forms in which they manifest themselves, from impacts on environmental matrices, specific phenomena of pollution, environmental and urban degradation, waste abandonment, noise pollution phenomena, urban greenery problems, etc.”.
