Mayor Franz Caruso expressed his deepest condolences for the passing of Prof. Franco Felicetti, retired school director, historic principal of the “Fausto Gullo” Institute and great lover of art.

With Franco Felicetti – Franz Caruso underlined with emotion – not only an excellent educator, who dedicated his intense professional activity to school, but also a leading personality in the field of dissemination and valorisation of different artistic expressions, disappears. He worked very hard – added Franz Caruso – to donate the work “Donna Brettia” by the sculptor Eva Riquelme Jimenez to the city, in collaboration with the “Cosenza city of free time” Committee. I still remember the day of the inauguration, when Prof. Felicetti, with the placement of the work in via Sertorio Quattromani, fulfilled a long-cherished goal which on that occasion was finally able to see the light. But Prof. Felicetti’s attention to the world of art and also to the recovery and valorisation of the historic center – Franz Caruso also underlines – had also produced, years earlier, another result, as creator of the Historical Museum of the city of Cosenza. 25 pictorial works that he had commissioned from artists, especially foreign ones, coming from France, Germany, England, Spain and from our country, imagining a route that starting from the Santa Lucia district, crossed a good part of the historic center, its alleys and its squares. He had divided the history of the city, commissioned to the artists, into thematic and historical areas: the Cosenza Bruzia, the Norman, the Cosenza Sveva, the Angevin and the Aragonese, thanks to the depiction of the most significant scenes of the different dominations that the city has known city of Cosenza”. Mayor Franz Caruso then addressed his deepest condolences and those of the entire municipal administration to Prof. Felicetti’s family, his wife, Mrs. Mirella Conforti, and his daughters Katia, Monica and Brunella.
